MAJOR SOCAL AREA SCHOOL DISTRICT with over 500 SCHOOLS on LAB & LARGE AREA Ura-Floor® TESTING - School District Engineering Assessment: "Ura-Floor® exhibits best toughness, stain resistance, scratch resistance and abrasion resistance of any material testing in 20 years - over all solvent and water-borne multi-component systems". Inspections after 90 & 180 days: almost nick & scratch free including classroom & multi-purpose floors. Ura-Floor® is now used exclusively by one of the world's largest School Districts for classrooms, multi-purpose rooms, cafeterias and gymnasiums.

Largest Single Gym Floor Project to Date : 45,000 sq. ft. continuous floor area (over 1 acre in size…and that is one Massive Gym Floor) by NCAA-certified applicator in 2012.

MATERIAL PREPARATION : Mix thoroughly before using. Do not shake or over-mix to prevent bubble entrainment. No thinning is required except when using as sanding sealer.

SURFACE PREPARATION : All surfaces must be clean and dry before application.

New Wood: Sand bare wood with the grain using fine sand paper (220-320 grit, relieve all sharp edges). Remove sanding residue and wipe with FSC's UPOL Water-Borne cleaner. Let dry 2-4 hours (depending upon drying conditions and film thickness) and then sand again. Repeat process until swelling stops. Following the last sanding and before applying Ura-Floor™, use FSC's 190 Wax & Grease Remover or ZR Thinner for last surface wipe/cleaner prior to application to quick dry and reduced wait time. Stain if desired - use FSC stains. For other stains, always run compatibility test. For best results on open grained woods such as walnut, oak and mahogany, fill with paste wood filler as directed.

A "washcoat" using Ura-Floor® reduced with water (distilled water recommended), prior to wood filler application, makes it much easier to remove excess wood filler. For many furniture applications, FSC's Quick & Tuff ® WB Varnish can be reduced with distilled water as the "washcoat" material prior to applying the paste wood filler.

Previously Finished Wood: Sand and clean sound finishes with FSC's UPOL WB Wax & Grease Remover (use clean rags, wipe in one direction). Best to remove all previous finishes but at very least remove unsound finishes with appropriate paint & varnish remover. Then sand & clean with UPOL Wax & Grease Remover. Do not use tack rags

For Black Iron Stains, Water Marks or Mold/Mildew - Use Z-90 Wood Magic™ PLUS (Best) or The Bio-Cleaner™ Concentrates (Best in confined spaces with little circulation). Dilute each with hot water at 3 Parts Water to 1 Part Concentrate. For heavy iron stains or water marks, use either at 1:1 dilution. Apply mixture, allow to dwell 15-30 min, rinse off residue. Repeat until desired results achieved. Allow to dry before sanding or applying finish-fans and warm air help.

FSC HIGH PERFORMANCE COLOR/TINT PACKAGES: FSC has packaged their high performance tints with maximum clarity & "cleanness" for use by professional applicators to make stains and opaque pigmented finishes. Ask FSC coatings consultant about available colors & use. "Ultimate UV" packages for heavy sunlight exposures.

APPLICATION : Apply by spray, brush, roll, pad or T-bar. Avoid "excessive working" of the finish to prevent foaming. Use Ura-Floor™ as its own sanding sealer - reduce 15-25% with distilled water (do not use commercial sanding sealers because their poor adhesion in our testing). Apply two or three uniform coats at 450 - 700 sq. ft. per gallon per coat. Spray and T-bar applications will be in the 450 - 550 sq. ft. per gallon range while brush and roll applications will be in the 600-700 sq. ft. /gallon range. Avoid thicker coats to decrease the occurrence of bubbles or longer dry times. For best results, sand and clean with UPOL WB cleaner between coats. Typically sandable after 1-2 hours (77°F and less than 50% humidity). Maximum 3-4 coats per day to ensure proper through-dry, water release and proper adhesion. Air movement (fans) speeds Ura-Floor® dry and cure rates. Adding heat also speeds up the cure rates (holding 80-85° F is ideal with fans).

For maximum finish depth & clarity : always apply gloss basecoats with light sanding between coats - apply lo-luster, satin or semi-gloss topcoats for "lower sheen look" after desired finish depth & film thickness are achieved. For the finest overall finish, use 400-600 grit sandpaper between coats.

For white striping or areas desiring "water white" or less yellow appearance: Use Ura-Floor® W/B Water Clear Formula for base coats (1 hour to sand at 77 degrees F and 50% RH) - use standard Ura-Floor W/B for topcoat to achieve MMFA approved Coefficient of Friction results. Sand between coats for best adhesion and appearance. Recoat in 45 minutes; sandable in 1-2 hours. Ura-Floor® Water Clear Formula can be used on concrete as in auto shops and driving areas - very tough and fuel resistant.

Warning on Edges & Gaps : Be sure to apply adequate material on edges (extra coats or "stripe coating" of edges recommended). Be careful to not sand through the coating when sanding edges.

Fill gaps in wood or concrete with Geocel 2300 Clear Caulk or other suitable putty/fill materials to prevent bubbling or bubble entrapment; Ura-Floor® is not meant to bridge cracks.

DRYING: Dries to touch in 20-30 minutes and to sand in 1.0-2 hours (77°F and 50% relative humidity) when applied at 450-600 sq. ft./gal/coat. Air Movement (fans) and heat recommended for fastest cure after coating is out-of-dust. Dry time will be extended in cooler and/or more humid conditions and when applied at higher film thicknesses.
